How cheese is manufactured on a large scale

The manufacture of cheese has been carried out for thousands upon thousands of years and in that time the process for making the cheese has remained relatively the same, however, the scale at which cheese is produced has grown exponentially.

manufacturing cheese on a large scale

Cheese factories across the globe are producing cheese on a large scale, utilising newer technologies and machinery to ensure both the highest quality cheese is produced, cost effectively and efficiently. Cheese production must be efficient in order to keep up with the ever-growing demand for a particular cheese variety, and must be cost-effective so that manufacturers can pass on these savings to their customers.

Specially built machines are used at every step of the process, from adding the vital ingredients to ripening the cheeses and every step in between, the process is streamlined to ensure each cheese flavour is identical.

Large scale cheese making at J.S. Bailey

We have been producing cheese here at J.S. Bailey for many years, delivering to customers across the UK and Ireland. Due to growth we have recently extended our factory to keep up with demand for our many different varieties all of which are made under one roof.

We are very privileged to have such a large space to produce our various cheese brands, as well as space to continue developing new and exciting flavours to add to our Calveley Mill range. Take a look at a sneak peek of our factory below.
