We want to showcase some of the fantastic brands we have on the shelves of our on-site shop, Calveley Mill, and therefore each month we are shining the spotlight on one brand. This month we are taking a look at award-winning local brewery company Weetwood Ales.
Established in 1992, Weetwood Ales was founded by Adrian Slater, a highly skilled brewer, and Roger Langford, who provided the ideal space on his farm in Weetwood Common, and from this the Weetwood Ales brand began. As word spread on Weetwood’s dedication to producing a high-quality product, the brand built a fantastic reputation, bringing with it new clients, award wins and substantial growth.
In 2014 having worked tirelessly for twenty years in building this highly successful product, Roger and Adrian took a step back from the business, and new owners, brother and sister Phil McLaughlin and Laura Humby took over.
Using only the best natural ingredients and top of the range facilities, Weetwood Ales produces more than 1.5 million pints per year, within their 30-barrel SALSA accredited brewery. Most recently, Weetwood has expanded its product range by opening its very own distillery, producing both gin and vodka.
Weetwood Distillery takes great care throughout the entire manufacturing process, from grain to glass, ensuring that the end product has the perfect substance and character.
