About JS Bailey Cheese
John Bailey founded the company in 1984 in Nantwich, Cheshire, home of the famous International Cheese Awards since 1897.
This was not by chance: by locating his company, J S Bailey, in the UK’s centre of excellence, John was able to choose his suppliers, cheese makers ranging from small farmhouse kitchens, where the cheese is made by hand to this day, to larger manufacturers from across the UK and Europe.
Over the years the company flourished, growth meant a move to larger premises in nearby Calveley Mill where we now house all our production and distribution facilities as well as our shop and café.
We achieved BRC accreditation in 2005 and continue to invest in the company, in staffing and equipment. More recently in 2016 we were listed in the London Stock exchanges 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain.
Keeping up with consumer trends
As consumer tastes changed and customers became more adventurous and in their tastes, we increased our range and added a greater numbers of flavoured, speciality and continental styles of cheese to meet demand.
We are committed to our customers and take time to listen to feedback and to monitor trends in the industry. We are continually developing our range to reflect changing consumer tastes and new trends within the industry.
