As an independent business we really do understand the importance of supporting other local business and know how important local support has been to us.
We started out from our original base in Nantwich back in 1984. We’ve grown and expanded since then but have remained in the area moving from our original premises to bigger facilities in Calveley, Cheshire. The move allowed for our expansion and the creation of the Calveley Mill shop and café which opened in 2015. Despite this growth we’ve never lost sight of where and how we started out and wherever possible we endeavour to support local suppliers and other local businesses.
We know from talking to them that many of our customers feel the same. Provenance has become increasingly important to our savvy customers. People want to know how their food was made and exactly where it comes from. Many of our loyal customers go out of their way to shop locally at independent shops like ours rather than the big supermarket chains. They actively seek out local brands and buy food that they know has been grown or produced in the region.
In our shop we stock a wide range of food products, many of them from local food suppliers and small artisan producers from the region. We are passionate about the fantastic produce that can be sourced locally and are lucky to be based in such a great area with so much choice.
We’re proud of the fact that we sell fantastic local brands like delicious ice cream in a huge range of flavours from our neighbours at Cheshire Farm ice cream and the lovely range of products from artisan producer Cottage Delights. Our commitment to local produce and small independent producers continues in the café where we serve lots of seasonal specials and delicious freshly ground coffee, teas and hot chocolates from local supplier Tilley Green.
