Expansion plans take shape with £3m capital investment

2019 has been an exciting year for J S Bailey. At the beginning of the year we secured vital funding for phase one of our expansion plans, a new production and storage unit. This unit is now almost complete and phase two of our expansion has also commenced.

The purpose-built storage unit has the capacity to store up to 1000 tonnes of product will allow us to significantly increase production volume. This project has been partly funded by a grant of £400,000 from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). The grant was awarded as part of the overall cost to facilitate the continued growth of the business and is set to be completed and operational by the end of October 2019.

The second phase of our expansion involves the introduction of three additional grating lines increasing the capacity of the business and allowing further growth into the food service, manufacturing and export markets. The new lines are scheduled to be commissioned late in 2019 and will be ready for full production in January 2020.

Across the two projects there has been a combined capital investment of £3m. This significant investment in modern technology will enable the business to further enhance our position within the dairy sector.
