Brand spotlight: Grandma Wild’s

We are continuing to shine the spotlight on some of the fantastic brands that we stock in our on-site shop, Calveley Mill. This month we are taking a look at Grandma Wild’s, who’s popularity has continued for generations.

Grandma Wilds

Established in 1899, Grandma Wild’s was borne from the biscuit recipes of Annie Wild from Morecombe, Lancashire. Annie ran a bakery shop and boarding house in the seaside resort. In the 1920s she and her eldest son, John Wild, moved to Yorkshire and opened a shop in Haworth, aptly named Wild’s Bakery.

In 1928 the family bakery moved to larger premises just outside of Haworth, where it remained for over 60 years, before moving into larger premises in the early 00s, setting up shop in Steeton, West Yorkshire. Now 100 years later, the business continues to dedicate itself to the traditional values established by Annie Wild.

Produced using quality, locally sourced ingredients, this fourth-generation bakery boasts four ‘Great Taste’ stars for their biscuit range, including awards for their Butterscotch, Salted Caramel and Dark Chocolate Ginger Biscuit ranges.

The brand itself is popular throughout the UK, and with so many delicious products on offer, it has become a huge hit with Calveley Mill customers. Just some of the products we stock include: oaty biscuits for cheese, chocolate chip cookies, cake, fruit and lemon cookies, flapjacks, alongside a wide selection of novelty tins, boxes and cases for all occasions.

You can take a look at our Grandma Wild’s range, as well as the many other independent, quality brands we stock, in our Calveley Mill Shop. We are open Monday to Friday (8am to 5pm) and Saturdays (8.30am to 5pm).
